Christians who are zealous for others to get saved get concerned at times that, some how, some one will stop us from preaching the gospel.  But according to 1 Pet 1:25 which says, “But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.  And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you,” they’ll never stop the gospel.  They may stop us, but they’ll never stop the gospel.   

Satan couldn’t stop the gospel – Is 50:5-9 – when Jesus was at his weakest, he invited his adversary, the devil, to come near to him.  Jesus spoiled him and the principalities and powers, “he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them…” [Col 2:15].  Death and hell couldn’t keep him down.  He rose from the dead, completing all the required elements of the gospel, his death, his burial and his resurrection [1 Cor 15:1-4].  And from then until now, the gospel has been preached.  Even in the tribulation, when the church is gone and the devil is unleashing his wrath on the earth [Rev 12:12], there will be an angel preaching the “everlasting gospel,” [Rev 14:6-7] and the “gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations,” [Matt 24:14].  Try as he may, Satan can’t stop the gospel.

Religions can’t stop the gospel – the Pharisees tried to stop Jesus and ended up playing right into his plan.  They turned him over to Pilate to have him crucified, not realizing that they were accomplishing God’s plan in doing so [Jn 3:14; Jn 12:32; Acts 2:23-24].  Then after Jesus’ ascension, the Pharisees, chief priests and elders tried to stop the apostles from preaching [Acts 4:17-20, 5:28-32]. But Gamaliel told them that “if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God,” [Acts 5:39].   And they never did stop the gospel.

Governments can’t stop the gospel – today, missionaries face the daunting task of taking the gospel into “closed” countries.  While it may be very difficult to get into some countries, we have heard people testify of the gospel being preached where governments have not allowed the preaching of the gospel.  If God deals with you about taking the gospel somewhere that a government tells you it can’t be preached, then go where God tells you to go and let him show you how to preach in that place.  You know from the Bible that the gospel makes it into every country because Rev 5:9 says, “thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.”  That couldn’t be possible if some governments had succeeded in stopping the gospel.

Schools can’t stop the gospel – in our country, Bible and prayer were taken out of the schools and students have been taught, instead, that their origin came about through the falsely so called “science” of natural processes.  Since then, we have had school shootings, an increase in teen pregnancies, and an increase in the numbers of students on prescribed and illegal drugs.  We didn’t have these problems when the Bible and prayer were still in schools.  Despite many teachers teaching “the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge” [Prov 19:27], we are still seeing teens and young people saved through the preaching of the gospel.   Just because they can’t hear it in school doesn’t mean they can’t hear it in any other place and at any other time.

Conclusion: while these groups have not been successful in stopping the preaching of the gospel, you can stop preaching the gospel.  Don’t ever quit.  Tell your family, tell your friends, tell your neighbors, tell your classmates, tell your coworkers, tell anyone who will listen.  And preach the gospel from the King James Bible.  Peter said, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever,” [1 Pet 1:23].  Go with the incorruptible word of God, not a corrupt modern Bible [2 Cor 2:17].
