According to 1 Cor 2:16, we have the mind of Christ. This is true of all who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. However, many Christians who have the mind of Christ are not using his mind. They are still thinking with their own natural mind.
Are you still using your natural mind, or are you using the mind of Christ?
Let this mind be in you, Phil 2:5. You have to LET this mind “be” in you or you won’t be able to do what Paul said we are to do in Phil 2:2-4. In the body of Christ, we are to “be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind”. We can’t do this without Christ’s mind in us. The problem, when you’re not getting along with other Christians, is not everyone else. The problem is you. And it’s in your mind.
Be renewed in the spirit of your mind, Eph 4:23. You have to put off the old man and put on the new man or your mind won’t be renewed. You won’t be able to do everything the new man is supposed to do in Eph 4:25-32, without being renewed in your mind. The problem is in your mind. You’re not being renewed in the spirit of your mind. When you are renewed in the spirit of your mind, you’ll quit lying, flying off the handle, stealing, using corrupt communication, grieving the Holy Spirit, and being unforgiving.
Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, Rom 12:2. You cannot be conformed to this world or you won’t be transformed by the renewing of your mind. And you won’t be able to do the will of God. The problem with doing the will of God is that your mind is still conformed to the world.
Use the sound mind God has given you, 2 Tim 1:7. The man in the Gadarenes was in his right mind after Jesus cast out the devil, Mk 5. You won’t have this sound mind as long a you continue to live in fear. You have to put off this fear. The natural man is afraid in this generation, and rightly so. But the spiritual man is not governed by the spirit of fear. Rather, his mind is sound. He’s using the mind of Christ.
Conclusion: If you will humble yourself, Phil 2, put on the new man, Eph 4, be transformed, Rom 12, and start using your sound mind, 2 Tim 1, you will quickly realize how much better the mind of Christ is than your old worldly, prideful, fearful mind ever was.
