A Virtuous Woman & the Church II Prov. 31:10-31 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

This is a continuation of yesterday’s broadcast.  We find similarities between the virtuous woman of Prov 31 and the Church – examining these similarities will help us understand the Church better – notice the Church’s and the virtuous woman’s:

Covering – v.21 – Scarlet – we are covered by the blood of Jesus.

Husband – v.23 – the Church’s husband is Jesus – he is known world wide and rules among elders (pastors).

Clothing – v.24 – we are clothed in fine linen which is the righteousness of the saints – Rev 19:8.

Rejoicing – v.25 – we rejoice in time to come – there will be plenty of rejoicing when you receive the soul winner’s crown, for instance, 1 Thes 2:19.

Wisdom – v.26 – the wisdom of God is what we speak, 1 Cor 1 – it confounds the wisdom of this world.

Kindness – v.26 – see Eph 4:32 – we are to be kind because Jesus was kind to us.

Diligence – v.27 – we are not to be idle – in Matt 20 the Lord asked, “why stand ye here all the day idle?” – we are to be busy working with our hands the thing which is good, Eph 4:28.

Children – v. 28 – through witnessing and sowing the seed of the word of God Jesus brings forth souls.

Excellence – v.29 – we will be without spot or wrinkle, Eph 5:27.

Fear – v.30 – the fear of God is our wisdom and the basis for our relationship with Him – we are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling – knowing therefore the terror of the Lord we are persuaded to prepare for the Judgment Seat of Christ, 2 Cor 5:10-11.

Reward – v.31 – the Bride will be rewarded at the Judgment Seat of Christ, Col 3:24.
