What Can I Do? 1 Cor. 12:12-27 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
The body of Christ doesn’t have any vestigial organs. We all have something to do in the body. “… now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him,” [1 Cor 12:18]. What Can I do?
Be Faithful – be obedient to the Lord, attend, give, and quit hanging around on the outside; you are attached.
Pray – Eph 6:18-20 – pray for your pastors and their families which we sincerely need and appreciate. Pray for each other. Pray for our missionaries, taking a very specific interest in some the Lord leads you to pray for daily.
Care – Phil 4:10; 2 Cor 11:9 – care for our missionaries. Write them, especially on birthdays and anniversaries. Take a special interest in them to let them know that you sincerely care.
Visit – Jas 1:27 – What Can I do? We have a number of widows and widowers who would surely appreciate a visit and a helping hand from time to time. Visit the sick at the hospital and at home. Help each other out [Gal 6:2].
Sow – Jn 4:35-38 – stop by the tract rack every time you leave church and take a handful of tracts and pass them out. Get a few New Testaments out of our supply and give them out to people you meet along the way. Pray and ask the Lord to lead you to people who will receive these. Reapers can’t reap unless sowers are sowing.
Disciple – 2 Tim 2:2 – let one of us disciple you in the basic doctrines of the Bible and learn them well enough so that you can disciple someone who wants to learn the basics, as well. This is vital to your growth and theirs.
Get saved – 2 Cor 6:1-2 – What can I do? If you aren’t already saved, today is the day that you ought to get saved.
Conclusion: What can I do? These are things that we can all do. Pray for the Lord to give you something specific among these things that you will start doing from now on. And don’t forget to get tracts and New Testaments on your way out the door.
