What does God say about Homosexuals?

                Lately in the news the Boy Scouts of America have announced that it will now be acceptable for homosexuals and any other perversion to become leaders of groups of children and young men in their organization. This organization has been in existence for over one hundred years and has an exemplary reputation for training boys to become men. The Scout oath is:

On my honor I will do my best

To do my duty to God and my country

And to obey the Scout Law;

To help other people at all times;

To keep myself physically strong,

Mentally awake, and morally straight.

They may need to change their oath. What does God say about this?

Lev. 18:22 – “thou shalt not” makes it a sin, but God calls it an abomination.

Lev. 20:13 – God says “they shall surely be put to death” God said to kill them.

But wait, that is Old Testament! We are under the New Testament!!!! God has never changed his mind concerning sin and righteousness. Hebrews 13:8 says he is “the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Let us look in the New Testament.

Romans Chapter one has a great deal to say about these “vile affections”. But we must not just pull that portion out of the passage without exploring the context and numerous other sins listed.

Romans 1:18 – “who hold the truth in unrighteousness” Paul is talking about folks that know the truth and continue to live in their unrighteousness.

Romans 1:20 – Paul says they are “without excuse” because God has “clearly” shown them that He is God and the creator of all. (Job 12:7-10, Ps 19:1-3)

Now Paul explains the progression that God goes through when a person continues in his sin and has pleasure in it (Romans 1:32). He uses a similar phrase three times, “God gave them up… verse 24, God gave them up….verse 26, and God gave them over…. Verse 28”

Verse 24 – “God gave them up to uncleanness….. to dishonor their own bodies between themselves” the first step affects your BODY.

Verse 26 – “God gave them up to vile(filthy) affections” The next step affects your SOUL, the seat of your emotions and affections.

Verse 28 – “God gave them over to a Reprobate (Not enduring proof or trial, rejected) mind” This final step affects your SPIRIT.

This leads to the excuse provided by the world: They were born that way. They truly are!!!! And so were you. Ps. 51:5, David says “I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”  Because of Adam and the fall of man, we are all born in Adam’s image, with a sin nature. You were born to be a thief, a murderer, a liar, and you name the sin. The fact is though, as you grew up there were plenty of folks to correct you on each sin and make it clear to you that “you can’t do that”. The world today says you can be a queer and no one is allowed to say anything to correct you. This lesson may result in jail time in the near future because it will be considered “hate speech”. Your friends and family that may be in this lifestyle of sin needs your prayers, and repentance toward God just like any other sin.

But let us continue to look what Paul is saying in verse 28, “God gave them over to a reprobate mind. To do those things which are not convenient;” Verses 29-31 are a list of sins that we all are guilty of for the most part. What we must be careful of is continuing in sin that we know God is not pleased with and ignoring God’s pleas to repent. We too can be given over to a reprobate mind.
