Where is Wisdom Prov. 8:22-36 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

The first thing to notice when you are looking for wisdom is that wisdom predates the universe [v.22-26] therefore a man that tries to find wisdom by a scientific examination of the universe (1 Tim 6:20) will come to conclusions about the universe that are false, incomplete and foolish (Rom 1:22).  The professor or scientist’s words to describe what he has found out may be wise [1 Cor 2:4-5 the wisdom of man’s words] and he may be able to make a lot of money with those words [Ezek 28:4-5 compared to the devil’s wisdom to gain wealth] but he will miss the wisdom of God in the process because the wisdom of God goes before and beyond the wisdom that is in the earth.  You can’t find the wisdom of God with the Hubble telescope or with a space ship or with genetic research or with an examination of DNA or whatever because all of these methods involve examining what’s already here and coming to conclusions about how we got here without God.

The second thing to notice when you are looking for wisdom is that wisdom was involved in the “creation” of the universe [v.27-31].  Thus any scientific or philosophic theory that accounts for the existence of the universe and man by any other means than divine creation is foolishness and not wisdom 1 Cor 1:19-21, 26-29.  God made the heavens by wisdom – Ps 136:5, Jer 10:12-13; Gen 1 [by using his voice].

The third thing to notice when you are looking for wisdom is that wisdom comes from God and can be found in the words of God [v.32-36].  Wisdom comes from and is connected to the words of God – Deut 4:5-6, Prov 2:6, 1 Cor 2:13; Prov 1:20-21; Jer 8:9; Col 3:16.  To obtain this wisdom, you must rely upon the Spirit of God.  Wisdom is connected with the Spirit of God – Ex 28:3, 31:3.  Wisdom comes from God – Ex 36:1-2.  God put wisdom in them as in I Ki 3:28, 4:29.  If you want wisdom, you have to fear the Lord – Job 28:28, Ps 111:10.  Eternal life is connected with God’s words (Jn 5:39, 6:68) and eternal damnation is connected with rejecting them or hating them.
