Wholeheartedly
Ps 119:2 says, “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart”.
We should be wholehearted about some things. Wholehearted is completely and sincerely devoted, determined, and enthusiastic; free from all reserve or hesitation.
Seek God wholeheartedly, Ps 119:2. Deut 4:29, Acts 17:27. The Lord wants us to find him, no matter the situation or location. Is 55:6, “Seek the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near”. The problem is that people who haven’t met him yet, often aren’t seeking him. And those of us who do know him haven’t sought him with our whole heart. He’s still here and he wants us to seek him in every way, every day.
Praise God wholeheartedly, Ps 9:1. We should put our whole heart and soul into singing praises to the Lord. I’ve been in services here and elsewhere where the singing was very uplifting because we were all praising God with our whole heart.
Obey God wholeheartedly, Ps 119:34, 69. Obeying God seems to be situational. “I’ll obey when I feel like it, and I won’t when I don’t”. It’s not up to us to choose how and when we will obey God. We are to not just comply with his law, we are to keep it with our whole heart. It is the perfect law of liberty, Jas 1:25. “I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts”, Ps 119:45. Our attitude should be, “Just tell me what to do and I’ll do it”.
Intreat God’s favor wholeheartedly, Ps 119:58. We should put our whole heart into pleasing God. He is not hard to please and he loves us when we seek his favor. He’s better than seeking favor with influential men.
Cry out to God wholeheartedly, Ps 119:145. Often, prayer is such a routine and casual thing, we don’t put our hearts into it. But there are times when we need to intercede with such earnest intent that God sees how much we care. We can tell when our prayers are quick and hasty so that we can get on to something. And we can tell when our prayers are like clinging to the feet of Jesus until we get an answer.
Conclusion: Seek God, Praise God, Obey God, Intreat God’s favor, and Cry out to God with all of your heart.
